Una máquina es un conjunto de elementos que aprovechan una energía para realizar un trabajo.

La energía puede ser muscular (mecánica), térmica o eléctrica.

Recuerda que el trabajo en física se define como fuerza por desplazamiento (N x m = Julio)

Todas las máquinas están compuestas por 3 componentes:

- Elemento motor

- Elementos receptor

- Elementos de transmisión y/o transformación del movimiento (mecanismos)

1. TRANSMISIÓN LINEAL

POLEAS Y POLIPASTOS

Las poleas fijas no proporcionan ventaja mecánica pero facilitan el trabajo de elevar pesos debido al cambio de trayectoria.

Las combinaciones de poleas fijas y móviles dan lugar a polipastos o aparejos que pueden ser factoriales o potenciales. En un aparejo factorial tendremos el mismo número de poleas móviles y fijas, sin embargo, en un aparejo potencial sólo tendremos una polea fija y el resto son móviles.

ACUMULADORES

- Volante de inercia: es un elemento mecánico pasivo que almacena energía cinética y disminuye los cambios bruscos de velocidad angular del motor.

- Acumuladores elásticos: muelles, ballestas y flejes

DISIPADORES DE ENERGÍA (frenos)

- Frenos de tambor: las zapatas recubiertas por los ferodos entran en contacto con el tambor y detienen el giro por rozamiento. 

- Frenos de disco: las pastillas entran en contacto con el disco que está solidario a la rueda y hacen que se detenga el giro.

Tecnología ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) controlan la presión de los frenos mediante sensores y evitan que las ruedas derrapen en una frenada brusca.

Esquemas de Transmisión

- Motor de combustión interna de cuatro tiempos: admisión, compresión, combustión y escape.

El elemento de encendido en los motores Diesel son los inyectores y en los de Gasolina las bujías.
